THE
"AUTHORISED" VERSION
There are a number of Christian believers who are hindered from finding the Truth because of a dangerous belief that the Authorised King James Bible of 1611 is the innerant Word of God, believing that every word is pure. We know because we belonged to that group. The idea that the KJV is the inspired Word and not just a translation blinds one to the fact that Christianity contains doctrines that are contrary to the teachings of Yahushua and the KJV Bible translators weaved these into their translation. I used to stand on the street corner while holding my AV-1611 that every word contained therein was historically, archaeologically, scientifically and morally perfect! Strangely enough, it was not on any doctrinal issue that caused my faith in my KJV to waver... It was a simple archaeological discovery that made me cease my proclaimation (see Acts 27:40). From there on Yahweh gave a desire to find the Truth, no matter the cost to my pride and precious KJV. And therein lies the biggest problem. Many people in the infallible KJV movement are very learned, and espouse their faith in the translation with great vigour, thus it is a tall pedestal to step down from to admit you are wrong... Yes, pride is a hard pill to swallow for some; but if you read on and be honest with yourself you will find the Truth... WHAT CHANGED ME I was fully aware of many of the differences in the popular translations and that nearly all of the others had a different rendering of this particular text. The KJV reads: Acts 27:40 “And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.” taken up? = periaireo (G4014) cast off. The error of this translation is evidenced by the archaeologic evidence* of the anchors having been found at the exact depths recorded. *“The Lost Shipwreck of Paul” - Bob Cornuke. 6823 ERRORS The most diabolical and admitted error of all time, that is continued today by virtually all Bible translators is that of the Name of our Creator! The Name of the Creator appears 6823 times in the First Covenant alone as the so-called Tetragrammaton – יהוה- Yod, Hay, Waw, Hay yet in nearly every instance is replaced, yes! replaced; (not translated or transliterated) as “the LORD” In only four instances is it transliterated “Jehovah” and once in the short form “Jah” Not only is this a direct breach of the third Commandment not to use His Name in “vain” (H7723 - shav – falsely) but what is worse; there is a Hebrew word for Lord which is: Ba'al (H1168 – Phoenician deity). If this does not cause you to seriously question your Authorised Version (or any other version using this tradition) then nothing can. “Thus saith YHWH the maker thereof, YHWH that formed it, to establish it; YHWH is His Name” (Jer 33:2) “Praise ye YHWH. Praise ye the Name of YHWH; praise Him, O ye servants of YHWH.” (Psalm 135:1) The name “Jehovah” is an impossibility as the letter “J” does not exist in Hebrew and indeed did not exist in English till around the sixteenth century which begs the question, where does the name “Jesus” come from? JESUS? “...Who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is His Name, and what is His Son’s Name, if thou canst tell?” (Prov 30:4) The name of “Jesus” is not a deliberate trespass on the part of the original KJV translators per se, but a mistake none-the-less. The translators, despite having access to a phenomenal number of manuscripts chose to use the poor Greek transliteration of the Name of the Messiah rendering it as “Iesous” when considering the fact it is the "Name above all names" (Php2:9) and the "only Name by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12) they could have, and should have used the Hebrew Name - “Yahushua”. For more on the Name of Yahweh and his Son Yahushua click the link below:  PUNCTUATION There is no punctuation in Hebrew or Greek so it is possible that some errors creep in although the first example is not too hard to expose as flawed. Exodus 6:3 “And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.” Rhetorical question - was I not known to them? Yahweh's Name was known to Abraham (Gen 12:8), Isaac (Gen 26:25) and Jacob (Gen 28:13) not to mention Hawwah (Eve in Gen 4:1) right from the beginning. “the name of” is added implying that Yahweh had a different name previously, not to mention that Jehovah is a faulty transliteration of the Tetragrammaton, Yod, Hay, Waw, Hay (Yahweh). Luke 23:43 “And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.” Erroneously used by some to claim that Yahushua went straight to heaven at His death. The original Greek did not have punctuation marks as we do today. The comma should not be after “thee”, but “day.” reading “And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee To day, thou shalt be with me in paradise.” Also the believing evil-doer would be with Messiah in the paradise of the redeemed when he was resurrected far into the future. ITALICIZED WORDS No language can be translated word for word into another language. Hebrew and Greek idioms often do not come through clearly into literal English. Thus, beginning in 1560 with the Geneva Bible, translators initiated the practice of adding italicized clarifying words to make the original language more plain. The fifty-four King James translators did the same. Often, the added italicized words do help make the meaning clearer. At other times, the translators through their doctrinal misunderstandings added errors instead. Psalms 81:3-4 “Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day. 4 For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.” "was" is totally uncalled for and not in the original Hebrew. New Moons are still a statute of Yahweh to all believers. Matthew 24:24 “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” Should not have the italicized words "it were". It is possible for the elect to be deceived. We need to be on guard! John 1:17 “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” Another instance of a poor preposition. "by" should be "through". Moses did not proclaim his law, but Yahweh's Torah. The “but” added to the text also implies a contrast between the Torah (law) and Favour (grace) whereas the two work hand in hand. 1 Corinthians 7:19 “Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.” This needs some italicized words to make the meaning clear. It should say: "Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of Elohim does matter" 1 Corinthians 14:2,4,13,14,19,27 “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.” The word “unknown” is added; confusing those who erroneously believe that “tongues” is some kind of “spiritual” language. Colossians 2:16-17 “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.” This text can be properly understood only if the italicized word “is” in verse 17 is left out, as it should be. The message of these verses becomes clear: don't let men judge you as doing wrong when you observe the Moedim, new moons and Sabbaths; let the body of Messiah (the Believers) do the judging. Hebrews 8:7,13 “For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second... 13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away. TWICE here the word “covenant” has been added into the text while it is clear from the context of Scripture that Paul is speaking of the “Priesthood” that has been renewed. By inserting the word “covenant” it implies that Yahweh's Covenant had “Faults”! and that He has done away with His so-called “decayed” covenant, whereas James describes the Torah (Law) as “perfect”.
