WHO
IS THE LORD GOD?
|
 |
THE
LORD
“Choose
you this day whom ye will serve...
but as for me and my house, we
will serve the
LORD.” (Joshua
24:15)
Do
you serve Ba'al? You may be unwittingly be calling on the prince of
demons...
“Whosoever
shall call on the
Name of the Lord
shall be saved.” (Acts
2:21)
Many
believers over time have put their trust in this Scripture which is
quoted from the prophet Yo'el
2:32 and repeated in Romans
10:13...
Just how true
is this statement?
First things first, the Lord is NOT a name, but
merely a title. All reference works attest to this. For ease of
reference, Here is an example from Wikipedia which sources many
encyclopeadia: |

 |
|
|
Lord
is a title with various meanings. It
can
denote a prince or a feudal superior (especially a feudal tenant
who holds directly from the king, i.e., a baron). The
title today is mostly used in
connection
with the peerage of the United Kingdom or its predecessor countries,
although some users of the title do not
themselves hold peerages, and use it 'by courtesy'. The title
may also be used in conjunction with others to denote a superior
holder of an otherwise generic title, in
such combinations as "Lord Mayor" or "Lord Chief
Justice". The title is primarily
taken by men, while women will usually take the title 'lady'.
However, this is not universal, as the Lord of Mann and female Lord
Mayors are examples of women who are styled 'lord'.

|
 |
NOTE:
we see quite plainly that 'the Lord' is a title, NOT a name. Also
note that the title 'lord' is subject to a king... The Creator of all
things is NOT subject to anyone!

In
religious contexts Lord can also refer to various
different gods or deities.
In Hindu theology, The
Lord or Svayam Bhagavan refers to the concept of absolute
representation of the monotheistic God.
Other religious
uses of the word Lord include:
Ba'al, or
Baal, is a Northwest Semitic title
meaning 'lord', used for various gods and local
spirit-deities... References to Baal in the Hebrew Bible, such as the
prophet Elijah's confrontation with Baal's priests, usually
correspond to local gods rather than to Hadad.
Bel
meaning 'Lord' is a common title
of the Babylonian deity Marduk.

Ba'al |
So
not only is the this title used by many religions, it is a Hebrew
title for the false god Ba'al whom the scriptures (over 50 times)
define as detestable to Yahweh!
Yeremiyah
19:5 “...and have
built
the high places of Baʽal, to burn
their sons with fire for burnt
offerings to Baʽal, which I did
not command or speak, nor did it come into My heart.”
Most
people would also recognise the name Ba'al as a synonym for
Satan.
See what Yahweh has to say about the substitution of His
Name for Ba'al:
“Till
when shall it be in the heart of the prophets? – the prophets of
falsehood
and prophets of the deceit
of their own heart, who try to make My people forget
My Name
by their dreams which everyone relates to his neighbour, as their
fathers forgot
My Name for Baʽal
(The Lord).” (Yeremiyah
23:26,27)

Wikipedia
continues...
According to the Oxford Dictionary of English, the
etymology of the word can be traced back to the
Old English word 'hlaford' which originated from
'hlafweard' meaning 'bread keeper' or
'loaf-ward', reflecting the Germanic tribal custom
of a chieftain providing food for his followers.
Lady, the female equivalent, originates from a similar structure,
believed to have originally meant 'loaf-kneader'.

|
NOTE:
Some claim that 'the name of the Lord' is an English term for our
Creator, yet it's origin isn't even English! And now the title of 'the
Lord' is described as a barbarian bread provider...

People
have often used the term 'lord' in religious contexts, where, The
Lord refers to God in Judaism or Islam, or to God, Jesus, or the Holy
Spirit in Christianity. In the Anglican Church there are also Lord
Bishops. In many Christian Bibles (such as the King James Version),
the Hebrew name YHWH (the Tetragrammaton)
is
rendered LORD (all caps) or LORD
(small caps). This usage follows the Jewish practice of substituting
the spoken Hebrew word 'Adonai' (translated as 'Lord')
for YHWH when read aloud. Following
practice in Hebrew, the Septuagint mainly used the Greek word Kyrios
(meaning 'lord') to translate YHWH. As this was
the Old Testament of the Early Church, the Christian practice of
translating the divine name as 'Lord'
derives
directly from it.

This
is just one example of the FACT that the one and only Name of our
Creator has been REMOVED from our Scriptures and CHANGED to a title
originating from pagan deities.
The Word says this:
Deuteronomy
4:2 “Do
not add to the Word which I
command you, and do not take away
from it, so as to guard the
commands of Yahweh your Elohim which I am commanding you.”
If
a believer were to come into an assembly saying, "Ba'al is my
saviour", or quoting from Scripture saying, "Thus says
Ba'al"; that so-called believer would get a sharp short talking
to and most likely be escorted to the door if they continued to do
so! There is NO DIFFERENCE calling Yahweh "The Lord" or
"Ba'al"...
SHOCKED
YET? Just to show the severity of this travesty; look at these
Scriptures where “Ba'al” has been translated into English:
Judges
2:13
“So
they forsook
Yahweh
and served
the Lord
and the Ashtoreths. And
the displeasure of Yahweh
burned against Yisra’ĕl.”
Yeremiyah
12:16 “And it shall be, if they
learn well the ways of My people, to swear by My
Name, ‘As Yahweh
lives,’ as they taught My people to swear by the
Lord, then they shall be
established in the midst of My people.”
1
Kings 18:21 “And Ěliyahu came to
all the people, and said, “How long would you keep hopping
between
two opinions? If Yahweh is Elohim,
follow Him; and if the Lord,
follow him.” But the people answered him not a word.”
1
Kings 22:52-53 “and did
evil in the eyes of Yahweh...
and served the Lord
and bowed himself to it, and provoked
Yahweh Elohim of Yisra’ĕl,
according to all that his father had done.”
|
 |
Most
people acknowledge the fact that "Beelzebub" is another
name for Satan, yet may not realise that it is two Hebrew words:
Ba'al -Zebub, meaning "lord of flies" or "lord of
heavenlies" !
Wake up and smell the sulphur! THE LORD =
BA'AL = SATAN
If you continue to call the Creator (Yahweh) of all
things by the title of 'the Lord', then you are quite simply
continuing in the sins of ancient Israel whereby they were 'divorced'
by Yahweh.

GOD?
When
asked, "Do you believe in God?" Just about everyone from
Hindu to Muslim to Christian will respond, "Yes." . . . . .
. BUT WHICH ONE?
For simplicity here's a snippet from
Wikipedia (which is common to all encyclopaedia) about the word
"God":
|
|
The
earliest written form of the Germanic
word god
comes from the 6th century Christian Codex Argenteus. The English
word itself is derived from the Proto-Germanic *gudan. Most linguists
agree that the reconstructed Proto-Indo-European form *ghu-to-m was
based on the root *ghau(e)-, which meant either "to call"
or "to invoke". The Germanic words for god were originally
neuter - applying to both genders - but during
the process of the Christianization
of the Germanic
peoples
from their indigenous Germanic
paganism,
the word became a masculine syntactic form.
The
capitalized form God was first used in Ulfilas's Gothic translation
of the New Testament, to represent the Greek Theos. In the English
language, the capitalization continues to represent a distinction
between monotheistic "God" and "gods" in
polytheism. In spite of significant differences between religions
such as Christianity,
Islam,
Hinduism,
the Baha'i
Faith, and Judaism,
the term "God" remains an English translation
common to
all.

To summarise how the
Germanic
term for a Pagan deity became a title of the One True Creator, it
appears as though the Catholic Institution is once again responsible
for the "Universalisation" of all beliefs into their one
world religion.
Studying further back in history, it turns out
that "God" dates back much further and is recorded in
Scripture that God (Gawd) was an ancient name for the god of
luck!
Leah; one of the wives of Ya'aqob actually named one of her
sons after this deity...
This is how many Bibles translate why
Leah named her son Gad:
Genesis 30:11
“Then Leah said, "What
good fortune!" So she named
him Gad.” (NIV, RSV,
NASB, NLT, etc.)
From Strong's Hebrew: H1410 - גּד
gâd gawd
Remember
both Leah and her sister Rachel were raised by a father who
worshipped false gods and were responsible for naming the sons.
Notice when Rachel left her father's house with the
family:
Genesis 31:19
“And when Laḇan had gone to shear his sheep, Rahĕl stole the
house idols that were her father’s.”
Here's what
Wikipedia has to say about Gad (Gawd/God):
Gad
was the name of the pan-Semitic god of fortune,
and is attested in ancient records of Aram and Arabia. Gad is also
mentioned by the Book of Isaiah (Isaiah 65:11 - some translations
simply call him (the god of) Fortune), as having been worshipped by a
number of Hebrews during the babylonian captivity.

Here's
what Yahweh's word from the Law given to Mosheh says about the names
of other 'gods':
Exodus 23:13
“And in all that I have
said to
you take heed. And make no mention
of the name of other mighty ones,
let it not be heard from your
mouth.”
And
again Yahweh warned Yehoshua before He brought Israel into the
promised land:
Joshua 23:7
“... so as not to do in
among
these nations, these who remain among you. And make
no mention of their mighty ones,
nor swear by them, nor serve them nor bow down to them.”
And
a third time from Dawid, the man after Yahweh's own heart:
Psalm
16:4 “The sorrows of those
who run after another one are increased; I would not pour out their
drink offerings of blood, nor take
up their names on my lips.”
SUMMARY
Here's
what you get when you put these two 'titles' together:
LORD GOD = BA'AL GAD
Ba'al Gad
is mentioned several times in Scripture
Joshua
12:7 “And these are the
sovereigns of the land which Yehoshua and the children of
Yisra’ĕl
smote beyond the Yardĕn, on the west, from Ba'al
Gad in the Valley of
Lebanon.”
Ba'al
Gad in Strong's Hebrew
H1171 - בּעל
גּד ba‛al gâd bah'-al
gawd
From H1168 and H1409; Baal of Fortune; Baal Gad, a place
in Syria: - Baal-gad.
When you refer to Yahweh as the Lord God you
are calling Him Ba'al of Fortune!
So the Scripture this
study started with is in fact a LIE!
“Whosoever
shall call on the Name of the
Lord shall be saved.” (Acts
2:21)
We know that Yahweh is not a liar and His Word is
Truth (John 17:17) and that the lying scribes have changed his Word.
This Scripture is quotes from the First Covenant book of Yo'el (Joel)
and because many scholars are admitting that the Renewed covenant was
originally scripted in Hebrew and later into Greek (rendering the
Name of the Almighty as "Kurios" - Greek for Lord) then the
only way this Scripture can be fulfilled is to translate what it
truly reads when quoted from Joel
2:32:
“Whosoever shall call on
the Name of YAHWEH
shall be delivered.”
Acts
17:30 “Truly, then,
having overlooked these times of ignorance,
Elohim now commands all men everywhere to repent.”
May
Yahweh bless you as you seek to obey Him.
“Choose
you this day whom ye will serve...but as for me and my house, we will
serve YAHWEH.”
(Yehoshua 24:15)
